a devised and physical theater ensemble for San Antonio

In February of 2023 a group of San Antonio theater makers led by director and playwright Ruthie Buescher staged the unique and immersive play We Sail On In Darkness, a show about female mystics, for sold out audiences.

Devised and physical theater is a new type of theater based on very old traditions. Incorporating puppetry, dance, mime, clowning, expressive movement, text, song, and more, this type of theater is consistently community-focused and is best created by a dedicated ensemble. We are encouraged by the response we've received so far from audiences in San Antonio, and we have big plans to continue creating dynamic new work for our city.
